Cee Diddy's Crazy-Ass Rumors

January 7th, 2010
Marvel has released a teaser for Spider-Man in 2010. The main focus point of the teaser is Mary Jane in a wedding dress, reaching out to an unmasked Spider-Man. Some are speculating that this could signify the return of the Mary Jane/Peter Parker relationship. That would just be way too obvious. It took the House of Ideas years to find a way to split Peter and MJ, there's no way in hell they're going back to that well so soon. Expect 2010 to be the year we find out what happened on the wedding day that changed everything for Peter Parker and Mary Jane.

Producers at Marvel Studios are now back peddling on previous comments about Hawkeye. It was months ago when it was said that Hawkeye was not being planned to appear in the upcoming Avengers movie. It is now being reported that those rumors were totally blown out of proportion and that Hawkeye may be showing up as early as a cameo in the upcoming "Thor" movie. Thor is set to be released on May 20th, 2011.

As filming for Warner Brother's "Green Lantern" film grows closer, we are now starting to hear rumors of who will be playing Sinestro. Ain't It Cool News is reporting that character actor Jackie Earle Haley is atop the list of actors looking to land the role of Green Lantern's arch nemesis. The rumor reportedly comes from someone that is working on the film. The other rumor circulating right now is that Warner Brothers plans on having Superman make a cameo in the film. No further details have been leaked at this time.

As long as we're talking about casting rumors it would only be right to let Marvel have a turn also. The German edition of GW magazine is running an interview with Matthias Schweighofer where he states that Robert DeNiro and Jude Law have joined the cast of Marvel Studios' upcoming THOR movie. Before you go getting too excited about this rumor, keep in mind that as of now Matthias Schweighofer has not been officially added to the cast of THOR.

SPOILER ALERT
Rumors have been running rampant about who Norman Osborne's heavy hitter is that has all of the Cabal shaking in their tights. Last week we did an article that mentioned a lot of the usual suspects, like Mephisto and Aunt May. We now think we know for a fact who the big bad is. Over at The Bleeding Cool Rich Johnston is reporting that he has seen evidence that the Norman heavy hitter is NOT Mephisto but does have the initials of MM. After reading this I went back to some of the footage that we filmed during the Big Apple Con over the weekend and realized that I also saw evidence of the secret enforcer in question. If you keep an eye open you could actually see the page in question in our interview with Greg Horn. Watch for that video coming soon. If you don't feel like waiting then here's the reveal it's Molecule Man. If you're a younger fan and not sure who that is, then google him.

Who was that guy?! Finally we're going to find out who Norman Osborne has as the ace up his sleeve. When Secret Invasion ended Norman put together his Cabal and one of the mysteries that came out of that meeting was who was backing up Norman that was so powerful and scary that even Dr. Doom took a step back. We're going to find out in January so until then we get to run with all the fun rumors. Here are the usual suspects.

The Sentry
The Beyonder
Molecule Man
Magneto
Scarlet Witch
Mephisto
Thanos
Aunt May

It's a safe bet that it will be one of those people. My pick is Mephisto and YES I am willing to put money on that pick.

The DC Universe could be getting a very large jump in population soon. Rumor has it that the end of Blackest Night will see the resurrection of many characters including Martain Manhunter, Jade, Elongated Man, Alexander Luthor, and Dr.Light. One person that will not be seen rising from his grave is Batman. With a large group of people returning from the dead this will spark the question of "Is Bruce really dead?". Get ready for "The Search for Bruce Wayne" in late 2011.

Issue #3 of DC's Batman and Robin featured the return of the Red Hood. Speculation is running wild about the identity of the man under the hood. The very first Red Hood was the Joker. He was only the Red Hood for a short amount time. In Alan Moore's the Killing Joke we saw how Joker became Joker, mainly due to his Red Hood costume. A few years back we saw the return of the Red Hood, but this time it was former Boy Wonder, Jason Todd. While the obvious conclusion to draw is that this new Red Hood is Jason, there is also a lot of rumors going around that it is actually the Joker. So is the Joker under the hood or is the joke on us and Jason Todd is just up to his old tricks? Only time will tell what Grant Morrison has planned.

Most comics cost $2.99. The ones you really enjoy and are top sellers cost $3.99. The price of books have been going up year after year. For a long time we were told that this was due to better card-stock being used for covers and advanced digital coloring. When Marvel started selling books at $3.99 we were told that it was being done so that they could make more money. Ouch. Now Disney owns Marvel Comics. Along with the rumors of a Pixar Ant-Man film, we have started to hear about Marvel lowering their cover price to $1.99. The change could come as soon as January of 2010. Does this make sense? Sure, if you are Disney and you want young boys to buy the books, wouldn't you make the price more affordable? Disney might look at the actual comic books as tools to sell toys, movies and t-shirts. Will this actually happen? Remember you are reading this in a section called "Crazy Ass Rumors."

Sony Pictures has sent a press release to let everyone know that Spider-Man 4 will be coming out May 5th, 2011. Before I do a rundown of the rumors, let me state the facts about Spidey 4. Kirsten Dunst will be in it. Now for the rumors. Sam Raimi will direct and Tobey Maguire will return to play Spider-Man. The villains will be Kraven the Hunter, Mysterio, Carnage and just about everyone else who ever appeared in a Spider-Man movie. Is it just me or is it odd to have a release date but no other real details. You hear about these Spider-Man movies that are going to be made and then you get a quote from Sam Raimi saying, "I think they're writing a script. I have not read anything yet." The newest rumor is that Bruce Campbell will return to star as Kraven the Hunter. That would have been great ten years ago, I don't know if Mr. Campbell can pull off the lion vest nowadays. Until there's a trailer or an interview with Sam Raimi where he says, "I was just on the set of Spider-Man 4..." we will keep you posted on these rumors.

The Avengers movie may not feature the Hulk in it. Early word is that the Avengers movie will feature Iron Man, Thor, Captain America and Nick Fury. Everyone else is on the maybe list. This includes War Machine, Black Widow, Hulk, Hawkeye, Ant-man, Wasp and Thunderbolt Ross. The word I got is that writer Zack Penn is still working on the outline for the film and that a script isn't even written yet.

At this rate they could have every Green Lantern in the upcoming Warner Brothers film. Currently the following actors are rumored to have screen tested for the role of Hal Jordan: Michael Fassbender, Henry Cavill, Jared Leto, Bradley Cooper, Ryan Reynolds and Justin Timberlake. If it was me, I would choose Bradley Cooper.

The Red Hood will be returning to the pages of Batman and Robin soon. There's lots of speculation as to who is under the hood this time around. What we do know is that The Red Hood is trying to destroy the legacy of Batman and replace him as it's protector. Some have speculated that this will be Joker, while others are saying Jason Todd. I think Joker is a HUGE longshot and Jason Todd is a safe bet.

You think Marvel isn't still toying with the idea of an african american Steve Rogers? Not only is Will Smith still a name that won't go away, you can now add Tyresse Gibson to the list. He's been quoted saying that Marvel Studios spoke to him about playing Captain America. It's official, there's a fifty-fifty chance of a Black Captain America.
